Incubating innovation for inclusive and sustainable living environments

Innovation 4 Society (I4S) is a Brussels-based incubator dedicated to innovation in the built environment, at the crossroads of architecture, design, and the creative and cultural industries (CCI). As a member of the Built4People (B4P) Innovation Cluster Network, I4S contributes to a European ecosystem that brings together forward-thinking actors committed to transforming the way we design, inhabit, and experience our living spaces.

A European incubator for social and spatial innovation

Supported by the Société du Logement de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale (SLRB), I4S develops and manages collaborative spaces that foster co-creation, inclusion, and sustainable innovation.
Its mission is to connect architects, designers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and cultural actors to experiment with new forms of living, working, and collaborating — where innovation serves both society and the environment.

Innovation at the intersection of design, culture, and habitat

I4S functions as a living lab for creative and sustainable solutions within the built environment.
Projects hosted within the incubator address challenges such as:

  • Inclusive and participatory design — integrating citizens and communities into design and planning processes.

  • Circular and adaptive architecture — rethinking materials, energy use, and spatial functions.

  • Creative entrepreneurship for sustainable cities — fostering collaboration between CCI professionals and urban innovators.

Through this interdisciplinary approach, I4S turns creativity into a driver of social impact and territorial transformation.

Part of the Built4People Innovation Cluster Network

Since September 2024, Innovation 4 Society has been one of the founding members of the B4PIC Network, alongside other leading European clusters such as Novabuild (France), BUILT CoLAB (Portugal), and Clust-ER BUILD (Italy).
This network, nurtured by the Built4People Partnership and the Nebula project, supports innovation clusters in strengthening their multidisciplinary collaboration, expanding their geographical reach, and advancing their sustainability maturity.

As a B4PIC, I4S benefits from access to European expertise, partnership opportunities, and visibility within a community dedicated to shaping inclusive, creative, and low-carbon built environments.

An ecosystem for the future of inclusive cities

I4S embodies a European vision of innovation, where creativity, sustainability, and inclusion come together to design the habitats of tomorrow.
Through collaboration with public institutions, creative entrepreneurs, and research partners, the incubator acts as a catalyst for:

  • Inclusive entrepreneurship

  • Creative prototyping in the built environment

  • Cross-sectoral collaboration between CCI and sustainable construction

Revitalising territories through creativity and collaboration

TAG Brussels, located in the heart of the Rogier district, is an urban management and development project carried out in collaboration with the Brussels Regional Public Service (SPRB).
Its mission is to developp creative and collaborative hubs that bring together entrepreneurs, artists, and cultural actors.

A hub for creative innovation

TAG Brussels acts as a hybrid incubator where entrepreneurs, artists, designers, associations, and cultural professionals co-create and share resources.
The project promotes co-management, collective intelligence, and cross-sector collaboration, empowering the creative community to actively participate in shaping their city.

Driven by Creative District

Within TAG Brussels, Creative District develops initiatives that strengthen the capacities of creative and cultural entrepreneurs through:

  • Workshops and training sessions on innovation, project management, and sustainability;

  • Artistic and cultural residencies that encourage experimentation and interdisciplinary exchange;

  • Collaborative events that connect communities and foster co-creation.

These initiatives encourage empowerment, collaboration, and collective project development, helping new generations of creatives take an active role in urban innovation.

An interconnected creative ecosystem

TAG Brussels is part of a broader Creative District ecosystem, alongside emblematic spaces such as:

  • mOtown Concerts – a venue for emerging music and cultural fusion,

  • Ubuntu Loft – a collaborative workspace and creative hub,

  • Ubuntu Art Studio – a production and research space for artists,

  • Residencies for theatre, music, and visual arts – living laboratories for artistic expression.

Together, these spaces create a dynamic network for creative experimentation, where culture, innovation, and sustainability intersect.

A driver of territorial transformation

TAG Brussels is more than a place — it is a catalyst for social and urban innovation, enabling creative industries to play an active role in the regeneration of Brussels.
By fostering co-creation, shared governance, and community participation, TAG Brussels contributes to redefining urban uses and building a more inclusive, participatory, and creative city.
